Now what?

So, it 9:45 p.m. and I should be in bed. But hate to admit it...I'm conditioned. I went on Blackboard just to look around. No one around except for John Zeck. What is he doing....? Hmmmm probably like me - didn't get enough? ha ha ha I found myself exhausted this wkend. I guess now that the course is done, school is wrapping up, grades are in - there is a lull. Oh, I'm sure I'll get over it. But first I need to catch up on some sleep.

Sunday afternoon

My niece and I are playing around with her webcam on this warm Sunday. Apparently she "looks like a little kid" without any makeup on. I told her that youth is good!!! haha.

Google's Wonder Wheel

Starting my Insight Summary assignment and remembering the April 24 NJEA conference I attended in Trenton, I decided to summarize Google's Wonder Wheel. This latest is about a year old and, in my opinion, is a great research tool. Watch it - then check it out yourself!

Memorial Memories

Today, I shared precious time with my Dad (on left) at Memorial service in our town. Despite the heat, my Dad enjoyed, reflected and shared stories with another World War II veteran (on right) who fought his fierest battled on D-Day - June 6, 1944. Wow!! I'm in awe!!

XML document?

Does anyone know how to open this type of document? Last night I tried to open a document from our school's Microsoft Outlook and was unsuccessful. (This is a school document I placed on Microsoft Outlook hoping to finish at home) When I double-clicked the document it asked me to "open it" or "save" it. I saved it first to my documents and then went from there. When I opened it, the information was in 4 small folders "-rels," "docProps," "word" and (content types)- the type was XML document. I google it, and it said to try opening it up in FIREFOX browser, which didn't work. In addition, the information about the file read that it was a compressed zipped drive. In any event, I wasn't able to open the document and still after much research - I don't have a clear understanding of why it was a compressed zip file much less how to open one.

Comcast Craziness

I installed a digital transport adaptor, which came in an esay-to-read self installation kit. Finally after working through the kinks of my do-it-yourself 8 step procedure, i called the "self-help" desk to troubleshoot why the channel "up/down" didn't appear to work. The volume and power button did futher complicating why the channel up/down didn't. Sometimes the most obvious things are right in front of you, but you fail to see it!! Seems like I didn't have the digital box positioned to pick up the signal from the remote!!! Doesn't look to good for me and technology!!! Ha! Ha!

Pop Culture

Today Ryan organized an after school meeting, which our entire cohort met to review and finalize the pop-culture project ideas. Lots was discussed, meetings planned, and information shared! Glad to part of this group!!
